Winners Announcement 2018
I am very pleased to inform you of the results to the 2017-18 competition!
The GEC is organised annually by the innovative Cornerstone Academy Trust (TCAT), based in the south west of England. Jonathan Bishop announced the winning teams from across the world this week via Skype.
A team of pupils from Broadclyst Community Primary School (BCPS) in East Devon has been announced as the primary school winner in the 2017/18 Global Enterprise Challenge (GEC), and in the secondary school category, the winners and the third-placed team are from Gyan Mandir School in India.
Of the winning Broadclyst Trendy T tie-dye t-shirt team, Mark Sparvell said: I liked the honesty in their reporting - where things were challenging or disagreements – and they paid careful attention to supply and demand. I quite liked the tie-dye idea; they knew what product to pursue based on market research. They gave an impressive interview and had clear roles. They were articulate and there was a genuine regard that was apparent for one another’s contributions. I liked the fact that they recruited fellow students to sell.”
In his comments about the winning Gyan Smoothie Crown team, he said: “This team was clear on the steps to success. They emphasised the health benefits of their various additions against competitor products. I like the way there were samples ready to show and they had paid attention to small things, like a little umbrella and label. They shared roles - including a hygiene manager – and they used Facebook, Instagram, the school website and physical pamphlets to drive demand.”
Congratulations to all Pupils who took part in the competition, I will be sending certificates that you can print out for each child who took part and I would like to say a huge thank you, to the pupils and staff, once again for making it such a success.
